• Landscapes were Erich Heckel's preferred subjects in the early 1940s.
• Together with Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Karl Schmidt-Rottluff and Fritz Bleyl, Erich Heckel founded the expressionist artist group "Brücke" in 1905
